Connecting Smart Phones and Tablets to the "R-MC" Network

Overview
  • On iOS devices: Choose R-MC wifi and enter your R-MC email address and password. If you are asked to trust a device certificate, choose "Trust."
  • On Android devices < 11.0: Connect your wifi device to the network named "R-MC". The network uses the following parameters:
    • Network Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise (also called WPA2 with 802.1X authentication)
    • Encryption Type: PEAP
    • Phase 2 Authentication Type: MSCHAPv2
    • CA Certificate: Select do not validate or do not check.
    • Identity: Enter your R-MC email address and password.
  • On Android devices 11.0 and higher: Google has changed security options and Google Android devices will need to be onboarded using the On-boarding an Android device directions. As of now, Samsung Android devices are not running "strict Android" so still allow the "do not validate" option and do not need to be onboarded.
Issue

Cannot connect or stay connected.

Troubleshooting
  • Forget the "R-MC Connect" network so that your device does not switch back and forth but stays on "R-MC", which is our secure network.
  • Each time you change your R-MC account password, you will need to forget the "R-MC" network and reconnect to it again with your new password if your device is not on-boarded.
