Overview
The Konica copiers with Papercut configured require logging in with a RMC username and password as part of the PaperCut system that allows for private printing, copying, scanning, and faxing. You can hold your RMC ID card in front of the printer's touchID icon on the front panel (see below) to sign in. The first time you do so, you will be prompted for your RMC username and password and be prompted to associate your ID card; on subsequent uses, you will be able to touch your ID to any of the Papercut copiers and it will complete the sign-in process.

- From within the application you are wanting to print (e.g., Microsoft Word), select File then select Print. Click on the Printer selection drop-down menu then select the copier you want to print to.
- Selecting Faculty-Staff-Printing [PAY4PRNT] allows you to send a print job to a virtual queue, where it will be held until it is manually released at any of the 10 Papercut locations.
- Selecting LibraryPrinting [PAY4PRNT] allows you to release a job at any of the Library Papercut locations, including Werner Pavilion which are primarily used by students.
- The Konica touchscreen dashboard allows for print release, scan, and other device functions as demonstrated in the following brief instructional video:
This setup provides an added layer of security for sensitive documents by not printing them immediately, allowing them to sit unattended on the copier. Additionally, you now have the convenience of releasing the job from any copier on campus, providing ease of access when printing from an alternate building location. The copiers that we will deploy the PaperCut virtual queue for PaperCut to hold a print job are indicated below:

Issue
You do not have to use Papercut to print. You can select the non-Papercut printer name for printers you have access to if you do not need the job held for security. Your job will come out on the printer just as it always has without signing in on the touch panel.
To copy or scan, you just need to tap the Sign In button on the touch panel, enter your username and password, and tap on either Copy or Scan. You can associate your ID card to make it easier later when prompted by tapping it against the designated area on the front panel of the printer, but that's not required. Once you are finished at the printer, use your card again to log out or press Log out. If you forget to log out, the system will auto log you out after one minute.
No changes are necessary for PaperCut when there's a password change. If you are signing in without your ID card, you simply enter your new password. If you're using your ID card, you can simply continue to do so without needing to enter your new password.
To print from a personal BYOD device to a Papercut-enabled network printer, please follow the Library's instructions for downloading and installing the Mobility Print app. This app is not needed to print from a college-managed computer.
Troubleshooting
If you need an network printer installed for the first time, please submit a Connect to Printer request.
If you are unable to print to a network printer that previously worked for you, please submit a Repair Printer request.
