Student Technology Committee (STC)

Body

Overview

Purpose

The STC provides student leadership for the technology services available to Students attending Randolph-Macon College.  The committee is being chartered as a way for students to interact with ITS through standard communications and status reporting in alignment with other Student Government roles and communications.  To improve technology services, ITS needs student feedback on new systems, network changes, service offerings, and issues experienced with technology on campus.

Goals

The goals for the STC are:

  • Develop a communication network and system to share information about new and existing technology
  • Create a system for gathering ideas and innovations that are student driven
  • Provide a way to test systems and software before rolling them out to students and help to avoid investing in technology that is not liked or used
  • Get the most from the services and technology already provided
  • Participate in an opportunity to improve campus communication and student access to useful information
  • Improve technology on campus to eliminate headaches and reoccurring problems
  • Establish an IT Certification program that could lead to internships and potential job opportunities on campus
Issue

Please contact any of the committee members if you have student technology suggestions or issues that require input to the committee by emailing us.
