Overview
There are over 60 Technology Enhanced "Smart" Classrooms on campus, each with an integrated AV control system providing centralized control of equipment. All classrooms offer presentation ability, while some offer enhanced functions such as web/video conferencing and recording. This capability is designed to allow the focus to be on engaging participants.
Basic Smart Classrooms include:
- Room PC
- Laptop HDMI connection (bring your own adapter if applicable)
- Projector/TV display
- Sound system for audio playback
Enhanced Smart Classrooms include Basic Smart Classroom functionality, plus:
- Web or Video Conferencing capability
- Wireless microphone
Service Offerings include:
- Use the Report AV Issue service to report smart classroom Issues which will connect you with professionals that are trained to assist with the classroom technology.
- Use the Request Event AV Support service to view the features of each location and to then submit a Facility Reservation Request Form. Training prior to presenting is highly recommended. In your Macon Reservation, put in a request for a "pre-event tutorial" given during office hours prior to your event or support during your event by including AV Equipment under the ITS grouping and/or microphone attributes under the Physical Plant AV grouping. Be sure to read the college's ITS Event Support Policy if your event is after hours, as this fall outside of On-call support. Users may not, at any time, unplug or rewire existing equipment.
- Use the Request Software Installation service to submit software requests for classrooms that can be used for instruction.
- Additional AV equipment loans are handled by the Library.
- Use the Request AV Enhancement service to submit a Classroom Equipment Change that can be used for upgrades, moves, purchases or installations of new equipment.
- A Classroom AV Guide detailing how to operate AV equipment for each space that ITS maintains via desktop shortcut or QR code found on the podium.
